Description
There is no emotion, there is
peace.
At will, you can alter your appearance to appear perfectly at peace and
free of illness, injury or any other negative condition. This is merely an
illusion and has no effect on any condition or effect to which you are
currently subjected. That is, if you have been knocked unconscious and then bound,
you can activate Composed Countenance upon regaining consciousness to appear
free of restraints and seated in a pose of restful meditation.
Similarly, you can activate Composed Countenance at the start of a battle and you will appear to suffer no injury or even break a sweat for as long as you are able to maintain the illusion.
Any senses which can detect your actual state of mental or physical well-being will automatically reveal the truth (such senses need not have Counters Illusion). If a mundane sense could provide a clue as to your true status, make a Deception check (with a +20 circumstance bonus) opposed by the observer’s Perception to determine if the illusion continues to be believed. For example, others may hear labored breathing if you are fatigued or see that clothing you removed is bloodied if you have been damaged. At the gamemaster’s option, an observer who has managed to uncover your true condition once may be allowed an Insight check (DC 11) to detect an illusion and realize that you may be hiding your true condition when you use Composed Countenance again (as described under Overcoming Illusions) but must still succeed a Perception check to determine your actual state.
